For travelling to Turkey it is required to have an approved visa. The validity of a Turkish visa is 180 days. You may use the visa for Turkey within these 180 days for an unlimited number of trips to Turkey. You may stay in Turkey for a maximum of 90 days within the validity of 180 days. These 90 days may be contiguous or divided over several trips. If you remain in Turkey longer than the validity of the visa, you will stay illegally in the country. We strongly advise you not to travel outside the validity of your visa to Turkey. Leave the country on the exit day that is written on your document.

Visa Turkey with a validity of 180 days

You write on your visa application form your arrival date in Turkey. The visa for Turkey is valid for 180 days from the time it is issued. If you're not going directly on holiday you can choose to have a different effective date. The visa application is then processed with the date that you enter. It is not required to have a plane ticket booked if you fill in the application form.

Up to 90 days with a visa Turkey

The visa has a validity of 6 months (180 days) however the length of stay is up to 90 days. This 90 days can be spread over several trips or contiguous. It’s up to you how you use those 90 days.

Travel documents

It is important that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date in Turkey. You should always travel with the travel document with which the visa is requested because they are linked to each other. When you obtain a new passport  you also need to request a new visa for Turkey.

Visa expired?

We have for an image added how a Turkish visa looks like. You will  see on the right the entrance and expiration date of the visa. If the expiration date has passed then the visa is no longer valid. You cannot use the visa anymore.
